ER: Season 13 in Review
The 13th season of ER has finally ended. But not to worry, season 14 will be here before we all know it. The question is will there be anything different next season that we have not seen already? The problem with a show that has gone on for so long like ER is that it always seems to be running out of ideas and is constantly recycling itself with variations of past scenarios redone with different characters in different ways. Everything kind of comes back to what we have seen before. However, I still keep up with the show after all of these years. Even when I think that I have given up on it, I still watch it after all these years. So why do I keep watching this darn show? Why am I so loyal to a show that seems to be past its prime and is nowhere as relevant as it once was? I'm still trying to figure it out.
Season 13 ended on another cliffhanger with Neela seemingly knocked unconscious and being trampled on at an antiwar rally while Gates runs to her. Will she be alright? Dammit! We have to wait until September to figure that out! The most shocking moment came with Ray coming back into the picture after getting hit by a truck, and we see that he has lost his legs below the knees. We all know that was CGI was used there for the effect, but it was very effective in dropping your jaw and very realistically done. Gates saw his surrogate daughter Sarah taken away from him for the whole summer, which neither he or Sarah was happy about. And Luka starts the episode off heading to the airport to fly out to Croatia to visit his ailing father. This appears to serve as Goran Visjnic's exit from the show as he has quit the show after all the usual contract nonsense, although he is supposed to appear in a couple more episodes next season.
