Don't Miss Out on Greensboro, North Carolina

It had been a long day. My mother and I drove in to Greensboro, NC from Florida the night before for a friends wedding. After dragging ourselves to our hotel and crashing for a few hours, we decided to do a little sight-seeing since we had another day until the wedding. Neither one of us had been there for at least ten years. Now, I lived in Greensboro from around 1980-1989, and so I wasn't really expecting there to be much to do or see. However, Mom wanted to, so we did.

Boy, were my expectations way off! Our hotelier directed us to the Convention and Visitor's Bureau (Visitors Center) and told us it would be a good starting point. A short drive later and we were walking in the doors. Two friendly ladies greeted us from their seats and asked how they could help us. My mom and I explained our situation, and they proceed to give us a long list of activities we could do while in town. It was a relief to be told we could simply keep our car in their lot for FREE (Can you believe it??) and walk around downtown.
