Rock band Creed's former lead singer Scott Stapp found himself in trouble with the law again, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Stapp was freed Monday without bond on supervised release after being accused of throwing a bottle of Orangina orange drink at his wife, former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat, at their home in Boca Raton, FL.

At the time of his arrest on Sunday, May 20, 2007, Stapp was charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. Sheriff's spokesman Paul Miller stated that the charge was reduced by Circuit Judge Cory Ciklin due to Nesheiwat's lack of injury and a defense argument that the bottle was not a deadly weapon.

Judge Ciklin ordered that Stapp must undergo random drug testing and must abstain from alcohol. He is also not allowed to have contact with his wife and must stay out of their house, with the exception of his private recording studio. No court date has been set.

Deputies arrived at the couple's home in Long Lake Estates at approximately 10:30 Sunday morning, responding to a 911 call from Nesheiwat. She reported that Stapp had returned home about 2 hours earlier, acting intoxicated and unsteady on his feet. Her questioning him escalated into an argument, resulting in Stapp thowing the bottle at her. She was not hit and the bottle broke on the floor.

Stapp denied through his attorney, Robert Gershman, that he threw the bottle, but issued no further statement. Stapp's record company, Wind-Up Records, issued the following statement: "This is a private matter between the members of the Stapp family, and we would hope that their privacy is respected. Scott and Jaclyn are both well, and any further relevant information will be forthcoming at the appropriate time."

I hope he gets some help for his problems. It sounds like he needs to be sentenced to a drug and alcohol rehab center and maybe an anger management course.

Very sad about one of my high school memories - going to the Creed concert. Thanks for the report.

A bottle of orange drink.. See this is pathetic. Wasting resources on such petty crap like this.. I can see if he beat her ass with the bottle, but to just throw it.. Shoot if I was in jail for as many times as I have thrown a bottle at my husband in 20 years, I would still be sitting there.. Excellent article :-)

I really like Creed and went to a concert of theirs. I always thought Stapp was more of the goody-goody type. Guess I was wrong! Great article.

Great article. I can't say I'm shocked to read this though. I really like Creed and went to many of their concerts before they split. I remember during one of the last concerts before they parted Stapp was acting "off" like he'd been drinking too much. It seems like since then things continued to go down hill for him huh? It's a shame since he has a really nice voice.

I can't say I'm surprised. I haven't seen anything to indicate that he's anything but a pious hypocrite and a bully, but I don't know the guy. Good job reporting this.

Wonderful article. This made me sad...many kids look up to this guy and he is not setting a very good example. Great job of reporting!

I was surprised to see this, from what I heard he was a great husband and father, guess everyone has their breaking points though. I went to high school with the wife about 9 or 10 years ago, she has always been a very attractive and talented young lady.
