It was reported a few months back that Warner Bros. would reveal a picture of Heath Ledger as The Joker during the summer to avoid spy photos.

Warner Bros. put up a brilliant marketing campaign in which a poster of D.A. Harvey Dent was vandalized by The Joker. Fans would be given codes through their emails and at a pixel at a time, a picture of The Joker would be revealed.

Fans worked together quickly and soon uncovered the picture and we were revealed a very scary and nasty Joker. You can see the picture to your left (and additional links below).

"The Joker will wear purple in the film. It may not be a literal translation from his comic book suit, but he wears purple. The Joker's neck isn't white, but is "flesh-colored. A "gash smile" is a better description of The Joker's grin than "cut smile." An Insider on the film told Superhero Hype

It has been said that The Joker's gash smile is the result of an accident.

"The Joker is fleeing a crime scene via a metallic zip wire. Batman chucks a batarang at it whilst Joker is attempting to attach himself to it, causing it to snap back and gash his face." An insider said.

This might change.

The Joker's suit will also appear to be put together by him and that there will be no big Joker origin but there will be flashbacks that vaguely hint at an origin.

It's also been reported that The Scarecrow, played by Cillian Murphy, will returning and will have help The Joker in making some kind of Joker Toxin (although I believe this is a rumor). His screen time will be similar to his in Batman Begins.

The Rachel Dawes character will have a bigger role this time around and The Batsuit will look different and will be lighter and a tad grayish and is described as "Fabricky chain mail"

I think he will have a constant smile - the scarring appears to be the "chelsea smile" (considered a result of torture, not accident incidentally) but does create scarring which appears to extend the corners of the lips up toward the ears. graphicly disturbing image but a smile none-the-less

The real Joker was always suppose to be creepier than what a lot of people have come to think. The newer comics and such have pretty much watered everything down. Joker was never suppose to be the "clown" that people try to make him out to be, he was suppose to be a psychotic that resembled a twisted jester. I think this more psycho, creepy direction for Joker is the way it should be.

Joker is too light hearted to try to be a "scary clown" - what's suppoesd to be scary is his absolute mental instability, and the grin that always goes with it.

I hope they change up the Jokers look before the movie comes out next year, for some reason he just doesn't look like the infamous Joker. I always thought that the Joker had a smile permanently scared onto his face and thats what made his charater so appealing, being such an angry person but stuck smiling all the time.
