Christopher Meloni: Law and Order: Special Victims Unit's Detective Elliot Stabler

Christopher Meloni plays Detective Elliot Stabler on NBC's Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It was this role that landed Meloni a nomination for his fist Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

His character Det. Stabler, is an ex-marine and married with children throughout most of the shows running. Allowing his job to consume him, his wife thus files for divorce. The divorce papers he refuses to sign but eventually gives in and allows her the divorce. Now though, the two seem to be finding a sexual connection and has viewers wondering if they will get back together or not.

The real life actor though, off screen is married to Doris Sherman Williams and have two children that they acquired through a surrogate mother. A daughter named Sophia and a son named Dante. The couple keep residences in New York, Connecticut and Los Angeles. Sorry ladies, I know how many of you wanted him to be single.

Meloni's did not get his acting break early or easily. He worked prior to getting his break as a bouncer, bartender, personal trainer and even as a construction worker. All of which could be contributed to his sexy muscles that we see gracing the TV. screen.

Meloni worked his way up doing bit parts in films and acting in short-lived TV series. The first noticeable role that Meloni played was as the son of a Mafia Don in the 1996 thriller Bound. He also appeared as Julia Roberts' fiance in Runaway Bride.

Meloni's true acting abilities showed through loud and clear in his role as Chris Keller in HBO's prison drama Oz. His role called for him to actually kiss and touch on other men. His role also called for the showing of rear and full frontal nudity. Meloni earned press attention and hordes of fans due to his affable reaction to open sexuality of his character.

When questioned about his sexuality because of his role in Oz. Meloni is very blunt, honest and straightforward. Many fans have asked him various questioned over the years via his websites ask Chris section. According to Meloni when it comes to sexuality he is straight. He does state though that he has no sexual attraction to men but there is no repulsion either.
