The spring, summer and fall seasons are festive times in our nations capital. From beautiful cherry blossoms to the acrobatic showmen of the circus, there is much to see and much more to do for Washingtonians and the many tourists who travel from all over the country. Events such as the National Cherry Blossom Festival and the Barnum & Bailey Circus are definitely events that the entire family will enjoy. For basketball lovers, the Annual Capital Classic will surely be worth attending as some of the best high school players from the area compete against each other.

National Cherry Blossom Festival

In 1912, the Mayor of Japan presented the United States with the first two Cherry Blossom trees. They were later planted on the north bank of the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park. Since then, over 3,000 Cherry Blossoms have grown and bloomed, creating a two week Festival so beautiful and worth seeing. There are over 90 events such as the Cherry Blossom Parade and the Japanese Street Festival. I have been to this Festival numerous times and I always enjoy all of the activities that you can participate in.
