Brothers and Sisters, ABC's new Sunday prime time serial that brought back favorites like Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, and Rob Lowe, was packed full of drama and humor for just about everyone this season. Scripts were packed full of the Walker family's struggles and experiences including infidelity, gay love and suck-face sex, illegitimate children, sibling fights over the family business, insecurities, secret lovers, marital problems, politics, education, legal drama, dealing with death, alternatives to birthing, the Iraq war, therapy, and family holiday get-togethers.

What started out to be the perfect Ozzie and Harriet family, in the end, turned into a boatload of closet secrets revealed. What sets Brothers and Sisters apart from Desperate Housewives is the difference between family and friends - blood is thicker than water. Somehow, you try to rationalize and intensely deal with the scandals in Brothers and Sisters because it is family. The writers do a pretty good job of mixing life's humor into life's drama, and the season finale was no exception.

Brothers and Sisters left us crying during the season finale episode. As so many families are doing right now, the Mom told the Son that she is NOT saying goodbye as he marches off to the Iraq war. Justin (Dave Annable) almost left for the Iraq war without saying goodbye, but Nora (Sally Field) and Kitty (Calista Flockhart) rushed to the airport just in time to see him in his fatigues heading to the plane. This was after Nora and Kitty got into a fighting match, throwing hurtful comments around over Kitty moving out of the house. Kitty reminded Nora that she never wanted an engagement party, after Nora spent weeks putting together the perfect party.

Saul (Ron Rifkin), Nora's brother, reunited with his secret long, lost lover from years ago who returned for Kitty's engagement party. It was apparent that his lover hurt him badly, probably left him for another since Saul did not want to meet him later. Sarah (Rachel Griffiths) drums up enough courage to give her sister a toast, despite her own failing marriage.
