As more than half my household has High Blood Pressure, and I sit and ponder how to handle the constant blood pressure checks, I wonder what to do about it all as the fact still remains that only one out of the 3 people in this house has insurance coverage and how am I going to get meds for these people before something happens to someone. I am all for alternative medicine, and wish more doctors would rely on safer ways to deal with things, rather than 50 pounds of pills that have multiple side effects.

Being in the religious field I am, I began to research several ways to deal with this situation safely. (Note: This is not a Doctor opinion, please consult your Doctor before you start or continue any new regimen for your health. This is just my opinion and the way my family handled it.)

This describes High Blood Pressure Symptoms as this: "Headache, Dizziness, Blurred vision, and Nausea "

This also adds these symptoms: "dizzy spells or a few more nosebleeds than normal"

An average blood pressure is 120/80. Consult your doctor what is average and normal for you.

High blood pressure has a medical history of causing: heart disease, kidney disease, hardening of the arteries, eye damage, and stroke.

Here a few non medicinal ways to help you with your blood pressure, (again consult your doctor first).

Eat fruits, vegetables, garlic, onion, whole grains, soy, beans, seeds, nuts, olive oil, and cold-water fish

Low sodium-high potassium diet. Drink 50% of your body weight in ounces of water daily

Vitamin Supplements: Calcium, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Coenzyme Q10, Flaxseed meal, Fish oil, Magnesium, and Potassium

Herbal Medicine: Coleus forskohlii, Hawthorne, Mistletoe, Rauwolfia, Garlic, Ginseng Powder, Cayenne Pepper, feverfew, Evening primrose oil, Yarrow, and cooked Dong Quai,

And always there are some things that you should avoid: Herbs and Supplements: Licorice, Ephedra, Asian Ginseng, Rosemary essential oil, and Angelica Root.
