If you are thinking about buying a home for the first time. You may want to think about a few things first. It is better to know these things up front. Buying a home is a huge step and can be scary situation if it is your first time purchasing a home and you don't know what to expect. First you need to have a steady job that you have been working at for some time. At least two or more years. And proof of income including contact information and phone numbers to your work place. References in some cases and your last tax forms may also be needed. Get ready to fill out a loan application from the bank and figure up all your bills and make sure that you can afford to buy a home. Your bank will verify all your information that you give them. When your bank approves you for your loan you must have this information on hand to fill out the forms properly. You may even have to fax paperwork depending on what location your loan is coming from.

Once the bank has approved you make sure they give you a pre-approval letter to show the Realtor when you go to look at homes the amount of money your bank is willing to loan you towards a property. This lets the Realtor know what price of a home you can afford. And lets the Realtor know up front that your loan is guaranteed and that they are not wasting their time showing you the properties. The pre-approval letter also assures you of the amount you can borrow and what price of homes you need to be looking for.

When you are being shown these homes please check them out as well as possible and hire a home inspector if the property is a older home or even if it is newer but has issues that you see. A home inspector will normally charge you about 300.00 to inspect a home but if they find a big issue with the home that you don't know about it can save you thousands of dollars in the long run.
