Are you sick of carrying around a fragile laptop? Are you having performance issues with your laptop? If you are ready to invest a nice chunk of money, you can do what I did: put all the cheap laptops aside and purchase a Panasonic Toughbook.

For over $3,500 (I know, that is a lot of money), I purchased from Super Warehouse (www.superwarehouse.com) a Panasonic Toughbook tablet laptop with a touchscreen, a laptop carrying case, an external DVD/CD burner drive (because the laptop I chose is too small to have an internal CD drive), and an extra disk of RAM.

I've owned my Panasonic Toughbook for just over a year now and guess what? It still works! I dreaded reaching that one-year mark because I was afraid my tiny Toughbook would kick the bucket. I was wrong. It needs some work, mainly because I store so much information on this tiny laptop that I really need to install more hard drive space as well as that extra disk of RAM that I purchased with the computer. The issue I've faced recently is that even though I purchased the correct type of disk of RAM, the disk was made improperly and thus will not fit into the appropriate place in my computer. Time to call Panasonic.

I chose to buy one of the smallest sizes of the Panasonic Toughbook because I have back problems and wanted to make sure that I would be carrying around a lightweight laptop. I am so glad I made this choice because carting around my horse-of-a-computer (a Gateway PC) was becoming a huge hassle.

Did You Know?
A fire marshall once told me that his fire department's Panasonic Toughbooks have lived through fires, water, and being dropped or flung across a room.
