Are you earning the most money you possibly can from your website or blog? Or are you one of the many who are overlooking affiliate marketing? The truth is many webmasters and bloggers are simply not earning their maximum potential. Affiliate Marketing is quickly gaining popularity due to the fact that it allows you to gain an almost instant cash flow.

Affiliate Marketing is quite simply a method in which an affiliate (also known as a publisher) promotes products or services in exchange for a commission. An affiliate can promote these products and services by displaying ads, text links, or products on their website, in their email campaigns, or by using search engine optimization. It's not just the small businesses that are using affiliates to promote their business either, retail giants like Wal-Mart, Target, and Best Buy are just a few of the many companies involved in Affiliate Marketing. No matter who your website is geared towards you can find an Affiliate Marketing program for you. Merchants find the idea of Affiliate Marketing appealing due to the fact that they are paying for performance, therefore they are getting instant gratification for their marketing dollars.

While some companies chose to manage their own Affiliate Marketing Programs other companies hire third party services to manage their Affiliate Marketing Programs, these third-party companies are typically referred to as Affiliate Networks. While there are dozens of Affiliate Networks available to chose from, only a handful of these are considered to be giants in the industry.

Commission Junction (http://www.cj.com) is probably one of the most popular Affiliate Networks. Commission Junction offers top-tier companies to partner with, eBay, hotels.com, Pay Pal, Lending Tree, Zappos.com, Dell, Six Flags, and AT&T are just a few of the companies they offer. Another reason Commission Junction is a great choice for someone new to Affiliate Marketing is Commission Junction University (CJU). CJU is an online tutorial that will help you to build an excellent, and lucrative Affiliate Marketing Program.

I second Rob. I haven't done any affiliate marketing in years. There are much better tools out there now to marketing your programs. Think I'll try again. Thanks for a great article.
