Greg House is like a modern day contemptuous genius. He's so smart that everyone around him is too sniveling and stupid for his presence. And yet the pull of the show is that this seemingly insolent man has such incredible appeal. You can't not love House.

House works at the University Hospital, run by Dr. Lisa Cuddy. He's friends with fellow doctor Wilson, and his three lackeys: Chase, Foreman, and Cameron.

For awhile Cameron had a big crush on House but when he insulted her on their date by openly claiming that the only reason she liked him was because she liked helpless men who needed saving (and there's a dead ex-husband to reinforce this) Cameron (supposedly) got over her House-crush. She was "seeing" Chase for awhile but then he started having feelings for her so she ended it because she didn't want that. Cameron is the "nice" one; the girl of the group. She loves people and has an obnoxious amount of sympathy. However, she does - at least now - keep House on his toes.

Foreman is the token black guy, and House doesn't let him forget it, often making stereotypical but funny quips about Foreman being in jail or getting arrested. Foreman is the tough guy of the group, since - according to Wilson - Cameron is in love with House and Chase is afraid of him. Foreman stands up to House more than the others, but he also trusts House's judgment more than his own most of the time. Foreman recently had a problem when a patient died because of something the group did wrong. He claims to be leaving the hospital to work elsewhere but only the season finale can tell us that.

Chase is, as Wilson says, afraid of House, although he tries real hard to pretend that he isn't. Chase respects House but also feels inferior. He acts superior to everyone else, perhaps because he comes from money. He may be unable to stand up to House but he can also relate to him the best because, like House, Chase is a selfish and impudent child.
