"Did you hear what happened to us yesterday, I have to tell you what happened to me , me, me, me, me." Thats about all people talk about in the 21st century. What ever happened to how are you, is there anything you need, do you need to talk? It seems as if people have lost the gift of listening, giving and laying down their busy lives so they can help others. Can the act of serving be taught to our children or have the older generations forgotten how?

If someone has ever done something for you, you know how it makes you feel. But so many times we accept the good deed yet we forget to return the favor or pass it on to someone else. The next time someone opens their home to you, inclines an ear, watches your kids, opens a door, pays for a meal, buys your family groceries, says thank you or simply calls to say hi; don't forget to pass their kind deed on to someone else. Let's change this selfish, "its all about me" world into a world that says please and thank you.

Here are few different acts of kindness you could try on a friend or family member this week:

I agree that people need to be reminded to be unselfish, to do things for others, and your suggestions are good. But some of the statements made to back up these suggestions are preposterous. "Nothing worth doing is ever easy. If it's easy, then it's not worth doing." That's bull. Many worthwhile things are difficult. Many worthwhile things are easy. Take for instance your own suggestions -- isn't it easy to say thank you? Of course it is! Do you really believe that makes it not worthwhile? Obviously you do not. Think before you write. Just because it sounds nice doesn't make it true. "our brains are hard wired to respond to emotional things" That's just meaningless crap. Don't write meaningless crap. Your ideas are good! Don't deface them with bull**** writing.

Well Said! Thanks for addressing the "I" problem that most of us have. We really should do more of what you suggest in this article.

Good message. Wish more people would do these things; it seems everybody has got the gimmies lately.

I agree 100 [ercent. Returning a good deed also helps strenthen, build self character and even a good feeling about one's self. It's true. Thank you for reminding us about the spirit of reciprocity.
