The world is full of trouble

We a live in a troubled world. In the world we will have trials, challenges, difficulties, opposition and the likes. We are often required to pass through troubled times in this life. Some of these troubles if not properly handled become burdens to the soul leading to depression. Trouble preys on the soul so much so that weaker beings even flirt with or even commit suicide.

Life has ups/downs

Life is filled with highs/lows, mountaintop/valley experiences. Times of mourning and times of dancing. Stuff comes that make us happy and at other times stuff come that make us sad. Things happen that excite us and some times things happen that make us feel depressed. It really is easy to handle the highs or the mountaintop and those times in our lives that things are happening for us the way we want it to. However it is often more difficult to handle the valley moments or those times in our life when it looks like everything is against us and nothing seems to be working despite our very best efforts.

Trouble is no respecter of persons

Everyone big/small, male/female, rich/poor experiences these moments. Everything happens to everybody and at one time or the other things that will depress or cause depression will confront us. So knowing how to handle depression is very vital to your continued success in life.

Treatment for depression

More than anything else depression is a spiritual force that primarily affects the spirit (heart) of man. Spiritual problems require spiritual solutions in order to be effective. That does not imply that we should not also seek medical help. However we must understand that medical help alone cannot solve spiritual problems. Below is a simple yet inexpensive and powerful remedy for depression.

Read and meditate (ponder, think upon, imagine) on the promises of God

If your thoughts are continually focused on the problems you will feel depressed but if they are on the promises of God you will be excited.

Trust (rely on, lean on, have confidence in) in God

You have got to believe that God is bigger than any problem you are faced with and that the size of your problem does not make God smaller.
