I firmly believe that our country is letting us down. Why aren't they stepping in to stop this?? Why haven't they already stepped in and done something a week ago when it was still below the $3.00 mark?? Here in Oklahoma where I am, we are middle class people for the most part but trying to pay these ridiculous prices for gas just to be able to drive to get to where were going, work, school etc the daily routines that we all go through and yet were going broke because of gas prices?? Was is wrong with that picture?? There is something wrong with the country when people are going broke because of the cost of gas!! People should really be ashamed of there selves. The ones that do the cost of gas and I think that its absolutely nuts that they keep raising it!! I live in Oklahoma and its over $3.28 for the cheapest unleaded. Some of my family lives in TX around the Dallas area and there gas there is lower then ours here!! We aren't rich and I don't understand nor like the fact that we have to pay more when big metro cities/area like Dallas are paying less then us.

How can people live with there selves going to bed at night knowing that they are getting rich off of us by raising the price of gas all over the place?? Someone needs to take a stand and do/say something before this gets really out of hand. Why isn't the president his self standing up and saying something. Isn't his family and friends paying the high prices too?? Doesn't he care that its hurting the average American??

For me I guess that I am lucky and blessed that I don't have to get out on a daily basis and go drive back and forth to work. I don't get out that much anymore, maybe once a week to go get errands and things done. I used to get out a few times a week, but not anymore with the rising gas prices. I am a work at home mom and these days that is a great thing to be if you can work at home do it! And it also helps for me that the kids are fixing to be out of school for the summer and that helps with the gas in just taking them back and forth to school everyday.

I hope that something gets done soon about the rising cost of gas or this country is going to be in a world of hurt and its going downhill as we speak.

Jeff, all that would cost our economy more than the gas price raises! Lets not forget that this is a capitalist system and just because something gets more expensive doesn't mean any wrongdoing is involved.

Jeff, that's sounds a lot like communism to me. We live in a free market society where price is a function of supply and demand. Eventually, things will balance out. As long as people are willing to pay $5.33/gallon for a can of Coca Cola out of the machine I don't know why there are such complaints about the cost of gasoline!

Since you asked, Abraham..stop the artificial manipulation of supplies..subject oil companies to punitive windfall profit taxes..immediately raise mileage standards and heavily tax new cars sold that exceed those standards..invest heavily in alternatives and public trans..raise the driving age to 18, restrict times semi-trucks drive on freeways, and there are dozens of more ways...stop buying the right wing talking points and think fro yourself!
