Night Life in Kansas City: A Christian Alternative

Who says you have to go to bars to have fun? If you're like me and you don't drink and don't want to deal with second-hand smoking, you can always take in the Christian coffee houses in town. There are several good ones and you can often hear some of your favorite Christian bands and artists come to perform. Here is a list of a few of these Christian Coffee houses:

Christian coffee houses are a great alternative to the bar scene. Back in the early 90s, I used to sing at several coffee houses during "open mic nights." Many Christian amateur singers, songwriters, and musicians performed. It was lots of fun and a great music ministry for those of us involved. It was at this time that I discovered all the fun entertainment available during the nightlife in Kansas City. One didn't have to go bar hoping and get smashed to have fun. The alternative Christian coffee houses also allow kids to come in. You don't have to find a babysitter to "party hardy" in Kansas City. Just bring the kids out and make it a family event.

Outdoor Christian Concerts

Calvary Bible College in Olathe Kansas often has Christian concerts. This coming Saturday, May 26, they will feature Bebo Norman and Brandon Heath in a free concert on their lawn.
