Editor of his school's newspaper as a child, Steve Carell is now one of the most prominent comedians of our time.

Steve was born in August of 1962 into an Italian family. He lived in Concord Massachusetts as a child, and attended an all-boys private school called the Fenn School in Massachusetts. He went on to another private school in Massachusetts called the Middlesex School. He went on to college at Denison University in Ohio.

He then went on to take acting classes in Chicago at Chicago's Second City Troupe. In 1991 he made a film debut as the part of Tesio in the hit film Curly Sue. Throughout the 90s, he taught improv comedy classes and continued to perform with the Second City Troupe in Chicago. He began writing for the Dana Carvey Show, and became popular with his stint on the Daily Show as a correspondent.

Carell began to see true fame when he starred opposite Jim Carey in the comedy Bruce Almighty in 2003. He has since had large parts in movies such as Bewitched (Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell), Anchorman (Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate), and Little Miss Sunshine (Greg Kinnear, Tony Coulette). He co-wrote and starred in the extremely famous movie 40 year old Virgin. This movie was chosen as being in the top ten movies of 2006 by the American Film Institute.

Steve Carell is scheduled to repeat his role of Evan Baxter (Bruce Almighty) as a politician asked by God to build an ark in a sequel to Bruce Almighty. He is also producing the film.

He was celebrated as the funniest man in America on the cover of Life magazine, and on Saturday Night Live in which he hosted the 2006 season premiere. After two decades of practice with improv comedy and bit parts, he has become an extremely versatile comedian. He also received a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television Comedy for his role in The Office.

In The Office, Carell is brilliant as Micheal Scott, a self-absorbed, immature, and socially inept boss at Dunder Miflin Paper company.
