CSI: Miami-Emily Proctor

Emily Mallory Proctor is an actress best known for her role as Calleigh Duquesne, the firearms expert in the Crime Lab in Miami, Florida, on CBS's CSI: Miami.

Proctor's Early Life

Proctor was born on October 8, 1968 in Raleigh, North Carolina to William and Barbara Proctor. When Emily was two years old, her parents divorced.

Proctor's Education

Proctor graduated from Raleigh's Ravenscroft School in 1986. She went on to earn degrees in Journalism and Dance from Greenville, North Carolina's East Carolina University. After earning her degrees, Proctor worked as a TV weather anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville.

Originally, Proctor planned to become part of the theatre department at East Carolina. However, the head of the department told her that she didn't have what it takes to become an actress and that it wouldn't work out for her.

That didn't douse Proctor's dream of becoming an actress. Instead, it spurred her on and gave her the incentive she needed to go out and continue to pursue her dream.

Proctor's Career

To continue the pursuit of her dream, Proctor moved from Greenville, North Carolina to Los Angeles, California where her father paid for her to attend two years of acting school.

Proctor began landing small roles in films such as "Jerry Maguire" with Tom Cruise and "Leaving Las Vegas" with Nicholas Cage before she even finished acting school. Proctor became the first blonde to play Lana Lang during the third season (1995-1996) of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." Proctor also appeared in "The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion!" a 1997 made for TV movie, playing Mavis

Aside from being known for her role as Calleigh Duquesne on CSI: Miami, Proctor is also acclaimed for her recurring guest-starring role as Ainsley Hayes, the Associate White House Counsel, on NBC's "The West Wing" with Martin Sheen.
