As an athlete constantly experimenting with energy bars, it was a true delight to run across the Snickers Marathon Bars. The combination of having loved Snickers, and constantly buying energy bars, it only made sense to try the Snickers Marathon Bars. One has to ask however, is this Snickers Marathon Bar a true energy bar or another candy bar? Will one still obtain the vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, and energy associated with competing energy bars?

The first question one might ask considering Snickers is known as a candy, is if the Snickers Marathon Bars are as nutritious and healthy compared to other known energy bars? The Snickers Marathon Bar was formulated at Masterfoods with consideration of the needs of active people, their lifestyles, and dietary needs. Professional athletes such as Brian Robinson, Ed Viesters, and Randall McDaniel were in fact a part of the team credited with creating the new product. By having the input of those that would use such a product as the Snickers Marathon Bar, it would insure that the most nutritious bar would be formulated allowing athletes to sustain the energy levels required.

In reviewing the Snickers Marathon Bars, the ingredients and formulation of the bar contain sixteen vitamins and minerals, and ten grams of protein. In addition the Snickers Marathon Bars have a low Glycemic index to ensure long lasting energy necessary to perform as expected. The ingredients include soy, peanut, casein, whey, carmel and chocolate. The bottom line in creating a good energy bar is in understand and recognizing the needs of active people.
