Adam Sandler has come out with a wide range of films. Now some have been huge hits and others have been huge flops. The hits include: Billy Madison, the Waterboy, Longest Yard. One of his flops was Punch Drunk Love. After watching this film, Mr. Deeds, I'd say that this film falls just short of a hit. The fil is somewhat original and creative and does have some laughs. If you are an Adam Sandler film or like a romantic comedy this would be a good film to see.

Mr. Deeds is about a man named Longfellow Deeds, played by Adam Sandler. Mr. Deeds is a sweet kind hearted man who works in a family store. He makes greeting cards and sends them to Hallmark in hopes of getting them published. He knows everyone in the small town and everyone loves Mr. Deeds. Deeds' life changes when he finds out that one of his relatives has died and he is the sole heir of the $40 billion estate. The news really doesn't affect Deeds as he is happy to continue living his life just as it is. However, one of the men who run the company that Deeds now owns is out to get the stocks of the company from Deeds.

Another main storyline is a reporter played by Winnoa Ryder needs to get a story and her newspaper company is anxious to find out who exactly has inherited the $40 billion estate and what he is like. Deeds is a big story especially in New York and the papers want to know more about him. Winnoa Ryder sets up a plot to run into Deeds as a lady in distress. After punching the mugger, Deeds "rescues" Ryder and she pretends to fall in love with him. She doesn't tell Deeds that she is really a reporter. Her mission is to find out more about Deeds.
