It's Just a Ride
The arguments presented by Roth and Farley are both unique in their views of what God is and how God works on Earth. Roth's theodicy protests what he sees as God not keeping bad things from happening while Farley's is more of a viewpoint that stems from the belief that God acts through people's protest and efforts to combat evil in this world. While both authors have their own take on what God is and God's role in society, there are also many ways in which their arguments overlap. I have my own take on the issue of theodicies. I personally see no need to subscribe to anyone else's or to sit and try to figure out what's going to happen to us. Figuring out life's tough questions doesn't change the outcome of your life, it only costs you time in which you could be bettering the world through service and bettering your own life by learning how to live for the moment instead of always looking for that carrot at the end of the string we call the afterlife.
