For bigger rooms I would suggest buying an Air Wick sprayer which holds a bottle of fragrance in the center. You can set it to spray the room every 9,18 or 30 minutes. One bottle of spray is a little under $3.00 and it will last about 1 month on the 30 minute setting. It will definately make any room smell great all day long.
You can purchase candles also but most of them aren't strong enough to produce a nice fragrance through a large room. The best candle you can possibly buy is a WoodWyck candle. You can purchase them online or at Cracker Barrel in the gift shop. They cost about $15.00 for a small candle and $19.00 for a large candle. They have a wooden wick and they produce a fire burning sound. It sounds like a fireplace. These candles are the best candles you can possibly buy and there are a lot of scents to choose from also.
I would suggest opening up the windows during the day. It's hard to get your home to smell good, short of planting a lilac bush in the middle of your house. You could always surround the house with lilac bushes and leave the windows open all day long. You could plants flowers in pots and keep them inside in the rooms which tend to carry a funny odor. This will tend to neutralize the odor.
