There are plenty of exciting new racers being shipped into Hinsdale Greyhound Park, located three miles east of Brattleboro, Vermont on the New Hampshire side of the Connecticut River. Hinsdale Greyhound Park currently runs a matinee performance from Wednesday through Sunday, with simulcasting from other pari-mutuel venues available every day, including Monday and Tuesday. Kennel owner John Lelas, who owns two of the five kennels competing at Hinsdale Greyhound Park, has been busy procuring greyhounds from his contacts around the industry to replace some of his aging dogs that are ready for adoption.Every racer is retired and "petted out" when they are done running and if the dogs that Lelas has brought in lately are any indication, the changing of the guard should provide Hinsdale Greyhound Park with quite an upgrade in talent.

Lelas has a pair of bookings at Sanford-Orlando Kennel Club in Florida, and he often will take the greyhounds that are struggling there and bring them up north to run at Hinsdale in his Lelas and Intimidator Kennels. GNC Anastasia is such a dog, a four year old brindle female that has run for Lelas at a number of dog tracks. From the now defunct Plainfield and Shoreline Star in Connecticut, to Naples-Ft Myers and Sanford-Orlando down south, Anastasia has given Lelas all he could ever ask of her. She is an early foot speedster who needs the lead to do her best work, and at Hinsdale she should be able to make the turn on top quite often.

Banderra Dizzy is a small white-ticked and red brindle male that won't be two until July. Down in Florida, Dizzy would get what is the equivalent of stage fright on the track, refusing to run late in the race when he was scared by the crowd! Up at Hinsdale, Dizzy seems to have gotten over that, as he just went out and won by seven lengths, at odds of 7-1. Dizzy will move up the Hinsdale grading ladder as spring gives way to summer in the Granite State.
