Which Television Networks Rate the Best?

I have an idea for saving money, one to propose to my cable provider. I would like to have the option to choose just ten or just twenty channels, and only receive these channels. I would then pay a price consistent with these ten channels. For instances, if I now pay $50 per month for 70 different channels, I would like to pay $10 or $20 per month to just have a select few. This way, I could afford to have cable with my tight budget.

I also think this would work for other areas of life. As an example, when you go to a restaurant, you should have the option to order small portions. Most of us never finish a meal at a restaurant (well, at least I don't), and we end up taking half of it home. Then, often the leftovers make their way to the trashcan a week later, or perhaps the dog. Instead, restaurants could offer half size portions, that cost significantly less for those of us with smaller appetites working on a strict budget. One restaurant, TGI Friday's, has begun to offer such smaller portions ( http://nlittlerock.myfridays.com/ ).

If I had to keep just ten channels on television, which channels would I pick? Which television networks to me rate the highest?

1. FX. This would hands down be my first choice of what network to keep. FX has all the new provocative shows, ones that challenge our viewpoints and stimulate our minds. Some of these shows include , The Riches, Rescue Me and Nip Tuck. In the show The Riches, there is a family that is living in a dead man's house, and the Father, Eddie Izzard, is pretending to be Doug Rich, the man he accidentally killed. The family has set up a home for themselves that is not theirs and they are attempting to live the American dream- someone else's American dream. They have even gone so far as to bring home the dead man's mother-in-law from the nursing home (who has Alzheimer's) to pretend she is their grandmother.

Interesting article. I agree with most of your television channel choices. However, I would have to add The WB and NBC to my list - I couldn't live without those networks. :-)
