There are plenty of people of Italian descent in my hometown. They are very warm and generous people and they tend to be very good cooks. That being said, there are only a handful of real Italian bistros in my hometown and even they insist on serving mainly spaghetti and meatballs. I'm a linguine and clams sort of guy and even that isn't a treat at these bistros since many of the operators can only afford canned clams. My friend insisted that the Olive Garden located in Jensen Beach would actually be the restaurant I am looking for.Atmosphere:
Well, since Olive Garden is part of a large chain most of the restaurants look the same, which isn't a good thing. First of all, they think piping Frank Sinatra music (which I do love by the way) is enough to make it seem like an authentic Italian eatery. Second, there are enough pictures of life in Italy on the walls that make you wonder if they're selling food or photographic prints in this restaurant. None of this really makes it seem like you're in an authentic Italian restaurant though. The restaurant is usually very crowded and the tables aren't situated right either. You feel practically hemmed in when you're eating at the Olive Garden in Jensen Beach. At least the restaurant is clean.
Service:
I do have to say that the service at the Olive Garden in Jensen Beach is wonderful. The wait staff is quick and prompt from when you're seated to when you finally are finished and ready to leave. The only problem I have is that, this is if you're dining at night, they hassle you with a bottle of wine. They must get a commission on this wine, because they do get slightly irritated and pushy when you say you'd just rather have an iced tea. Still, the wait staff is wonderful.
