With CBS canceling its mild hit, Jericho, fans are in an uproar over the CBS decision about their favorite show. This isn't anything new, since the show's cancellation has been all over the internet recently; even other Associated Content writers, besides myself, are joining in the Save Jericho campaign, and going NUTS, to do so.

For those of you who have not heard what the show is about yet, I will give you a brief overview: America has been hit by nuclear bombs from an unknown assailant. The government is in shambles. The people are scared and confused. It has become an everyman for himself, kind of country. The small town of Jericho, Kansas, has to find a way to stay together and survive. Obviously, along the way, many mysterious doors have been opened, and many questions asked - and unanswered.

Like most mystery, who-dunnit shows - Lost is a prime example - it takes much longer to establish a fan base. Jericho started out with higher ratings in its time slots than previous occupants, but thanks to the mid-season hiatus, a big number of viewers forgot about wanting to know who dropped the bomb on Jericho.

Now, in the age of internet awareness, and sci-fi geekdom, many internet campaigns have been brought about to Save Jericho. The biggest of which being the largest, of many, internet petition campaigns to save the CBS show. When I signed the petition (May 26th), there were exactly 85,109 signatures already on the petition. I urge everybody to sign this petition, but the only way it is going to do any good is if we also urge the creator to spend the extra money in order to get the petition printed and delivered to CBS. A petition out in cyberspace doesn't do nearly as much good; and this is coming from a man who spent a lot of time trying to save another doomed show last summer, Windfall.

This show was a favorite in my house and we loved the fact that we could also watch at CBS.com if we had to miss for whatever reason. I hope the campaign will be successful though according to the CBS message boards many of the cast and crew are moving on to other projects since the cancellation.
