1. Invite your guests-
Sit down and make a list of who you'd like to invite to your get-together. Barbecues do not require a formal invitation. It is actually considered most appropriate for you to invite either in person or by telephone. Ask that guests confirm their attendance and if you like, it is acceptable to ask guests if they would like to bring an item along. Those invited will most likely offer to bring something to your party on their own if you don't feel comfortable asking. If this happens, don't hesitate to take them up on it. This will ease the burden on you! Once you know who is going to be there and what they are planning to bring you can move on to the next phase of barbecue planning.
