Could Your Baby Be a Model?

Every parent thinks their child is the cutest baby ever born and in some cases, it's true! If your friends and family and everyone on the street comments on your infant's perfect complexion, big bright eyes and beaming face, it might be time to consider a career in modelling for your little one!

Baby modelling is far more relaxed than that of older children. Here, fat is good and the range of what is considered cute and adorable is wider. There are no laxatives or extreme diets and it is a good way to get a head start on the college fund without your baby even remembering that he had a big part in starting it!

The best way to see how much modelling potential your baby has is to get some photos and try entering photo contests. A Google search for "baby photo contests" will turn up enough results for you to send out at least a dozen shots of your cutie. Winning the contest is great, but even better is when the sponsors decide to use your infant in other promotions!

You can also try submitting photos of your baby to a modelling agency. Look for one that takes on babies in particular since this means less competition. Be aware that 95% of babies are not chosen for modelling work because they don't have the right look.

So, what are agencies looking for? Your baby should be a happy one since smiles are all important in landing modelling gigs. A laidback, calm baby will do far better than one who freaks out at little things. The temperament of your child goes a long ways in determining if he will get the job or not.

Babies should look realistic, not doll-like. That means some hair is good, bald is usually not something advertisers are looking for. Too much hair can make a baby look fake. That being said, there is a call for all types of infants and you should go ahead and try for it anyway if you are truly interested in the opportunity.

Great article, but Google always pulls up 'pay to enter' contests... any suggestions for an agency?

Thanks for the comments! Kristina, toddlers can still be models, but there tends to be a bit more competition. Perhaps that will be the topic of an upcoming article! Thanks for the idea!

Very interesting article. Our little baldie might not stand a chance, but I think I might throw his photo into some contests anyway. :) Cute idea for something to write about!

This sounds like it could be a full time job for mom, just getting work for the baby.
