Knights and rouges, ladies and wenches; harken to my words for what I speak is true. Renaissance fairs are marvelous medieval fun for all ages. And there are a number to attend in the beauteous state of Iowa during the months of May and June.

Iowa Renaissance Festival - Located approximately 24 miles southwest of Cedar Rapids in Middle Amana, Iowa. This fair will be held in early May 2008 from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be an estimated $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 8 - 14, and free for children ages 7 and under. Those who wish to dress in costume will be required to keep blades sheathed and peace-tied, and will be permitted unloaded period firearms only. Most pets will be allowed. Visitors will witness daring sword fights, outrageous comedy, captivating music, enchanting storytelling, and many more performances onstage and around the village. Skilled artisans will offer their finely crafted items while delicious period foods and drinks add to the festive atmosphere. More information will be available on their website at http://www.iowarenfest.com/iowarenfest/index.shtml.
