Trident has several new and interesting flavor combinations that expand what we once assumed about chewing gum. The Trident Splash variety contains new mixes, such as strawberry with lime, vanilla with peppermint, and apple with raspberry. These are good flavorful alternatives to the few traditional standbys that flood the chewing gum market. Vanilla with peppermint is surprising cool and refreshing. The peppermint provides a great clean and fresh feeling, but the vanilla prevents it from being too intense. The strawberry with lime and the apple with raspberry are very interesting fruit mixes that you will either love or hate. They provide an entirely new twist on the usual sweet and sour combination, as they choose strong fruit flavors that contrast and then combine to form a lasting fruity flavor.
Nutritional Value
This is one of the best aspects of Trident gum in my opinion. One piece of gum has zero grams of fat, zero grams of sodium, zero grams of sugar, and only 2 grams of sugar alcohol. For an average person, this is only 1% of their total sugar allowance for any one day. It should fit into the diet of almost any person.
Benefits
There are two great benefits of chewing Trident gum. It is low in actual sugar, which makes it ideal for on-the-go teeth cleaning. It may not be the exact same as taking a moment to brush your teeth after lunch, but it does a good job of cleaning out the bits of food left after a fast-food lunch. One certainly shouldn't depend on Trident gum as their only means for teeth protection, but it can make you feel like you have clean teeth. It can also prevent embarrassing food-caught-in-your-teeth moments.
The other benefit is for people who often find themselves eating out of boredom. This includes my son. He often stays up late, simply because he has always been a night owl. He will often eat junk food, simply because he starts to want sweets when his mind wanders. Trident has been a good fix for him. The gum is sweet enough to satisfy his sweet tooth, and it doesn't have the negative side effects that the candy and chips did.
