There are many opportunities for the crafty bride to exercise her expertise for her wedding.  One area that can create a lot of fun opportunities as well as lessen the expense of the wedding is creating some of your own wedding favors.  Here are some ideas for favors to help your guests remember your wedding by.

Flower Pots:  The centerpiece of the reception tables often contain a flower arrangement or candle arrangement, and a great idea to add a unique touch to the reception is to paint the pots that the centerpieces will be contained in.  Simple clay pots of any size can be purchased at most craft stores, and with the right colors and some gloss, you can make the perfect memento for you guest to take home.  You can also do mini-pots at each place setting.

Chocolate Appetite Holders: Often, receptions will include a chocolate or two at place settings for the guests to enjoy while they wait for the meal.  You could design and paint your own chocolate according to your wedding scheme.  The chocolate could also be personalized with a ribbon with your name and the date on it.  If you are not into candy creation, you can still personalize store bought chocolate for your special day.  Try wrapping some Hershey kisses in a small bit of mesh, again using a ribbon with your name and the date on a ribbon-tie.

Candles: Beeswax candles are a fun project, and a great wedding favor!  They are also very simple to make, just make sure to properly measure your wick before you start wrapping!

Boxes and Tins: Mini-boxes are also very easy to fold, and with your wedding colors they make a great favor.  Place a mint or chocolate in the box, add a thank you ribbon with your names and you have a beautiful little wedding favor.
