Charleston's Bible Center Church and Marc's Board Shop are teaming up for a skate contest. June 16th, 2007 is the date. All details are provided in the link at the bottom of this article. The event will feature a slalom course and a boarder-cross event which will provide for some intense racing. Rad.
This event is a first of its kind for Charleston and its success will lead to more skate events in the future. We are hoping for an awesome day of skateboarding and look forward to the many events from the unique boarder-cross to the obligatory highest and longest Ollie competitions. Come out if you are in the area on June 16th and meet and greet our Boston Terrier "Ollie." The event appears to be drawing skaters from Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia and will appeal to both old and young skaters with its plethora of events.
Thank You Marc and Bible Center Church for putting this together for the skaters of the tri-state and beyond. Follow the link to register or check out the photos. Keep Skating.

Takeaways
  • Slalom was popular in the 1970's. So was listening to Black Sabbath.
Did You Know?
What was once the high jump has now been dubbed the "hippie" jump and wheelies are called "manuals." Regardless of the verbage the action will speak louder than words when the fat wheels spin on June 16th.
