The Faithfulness of God's Word

2 Timothy 2:11-13

New King James Version:

This is faithful saying: For if we die with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He shall deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful: He cannot deny Himself.

New International Version:

This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with Him, we will also live with Him. If we endure hardship, we will reign with Him. If we deny Him, He will deny us. If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny who He is.

Cette parole est certaine: Si nous sommes morts avec lui, Nous vivrons aussi avec lui. Si nous perseverons, nous regerons aussi avec lui. Si nous le renions, lui aussi nous reniera. Si nous sommes infidels, lui demeure fidele, car il ne peut se renier lui-meme.

When I was reading my word the other day I asked God to make something stand out to me. I never want to merely read the Bible. I want to understand, to comprehend what He is saying to me because if I can understand His word, then I can get "a word" for myself instead of having to rely on a possibly flawed third party to speak into my life. So as I completed my daily reading for my One Year Bible (finally) the aforementioned scripture stood out to me. The larger part of the verse is true, but the last sentence is what commanded my attention. If we lose faith for whatever reason, whether we choose to or feel it is by the fault of someone else that God was, is and will forever be faithful!

Think about it! A God, so mighty, magnificent, powerful and perfect that He is so bound to His word that no matter what we-His corrupted creation-choose to do, He is bound to perform it! That is awesome, and by that I mean awe-inspiring. We do not deserve it, sometimes we do not even want it, but God is FAITHUL! There is no doubting His word, You can build your life's foundation on it because it is just that solid.
