While most of the world is enjoying the warm summer sunshine in the sunny months from June to September. The southern half of the planet is probably bundled in their hoodies, and or beanies, and anything else they can muster up to just try to stay warm.

Turn your wintertime misery into summertime bliss. In Perth summer starts in the beginning of December and ends in March. This is because its located in the Southern Hemisphere where the seasons are opposite of that to the Northern Hemisphere. If being out in the blazing, red hot sun, and scorching heat looking Santa Claus and Reindeer decorations downtown doesn't confuse you, and throw off your bodies biological clock, then nothing will!

A typical Perth summer consists of beaches, barbecues, and beer, and plenty of it. Trust me, when I say beer, I do mean plenty of beer. The Aussies (pronounced Ozzie's) love to drink. So if you are an alcoholic (or aspiring to be one) come on down, you'll fit right in. The only thing that would set you apart is you wouldn't have that annoying, twangy accent. Thank God for that.

A few of the popular beers in Perth are Crown Lager (Crownies), Little Creatures Pale Ale, and if you are on a budget, VB (Victoria Bitter). All which can be bought at your local pub, or bottle shop. I have to say that my personal favorite is Little Creatures Pale Ale, and coming in a close second is Crown Lager. If you have never tried any of them before, they are all worth giving a shot. If you are coming from The States, which you most likely are, I'm sure that you will find it taking a little getting used to the taste of the Aussie beer. Not to worry, you'll get used to it!

Kitesurfing, or in some parts of the world Kiteboarding is extremely popular in the summer months of Perth. With near perfect winds, and the Fremantle Doctor knocking at the doorstep you can rest assured that these guys will have some wind to play in. You can see the Perth coastline just littered with these kites, splashing their enormous kites across the deep blue sky. Its a kitesurfers paradise.

I just got home from a semester in Freo at University of Notre Dame Australia... and my campus dorm room was right across from Little Creatures! Needless to say, I had a few pale ales!
