Your wedding is one of the most important events in your life and where you have your ceremony and reception is one of the most important decisions you'll make regarding your wedding day.

A winery, a beach, a vineyard, a ballroom, a Victorian home, or ? Weddings are done everywhere now with wineries and vineyards being some of the most popular venues.

In this article I'll mention a few wedding ceremony and wedding reception venues near South Bend, Indiana. Ceremonies are sometimes done at the same site as the reception; often the ceremony will be held outdoors at a site, then move (but on the same property) so the reception is done inside. Many ceremonies are still done in churches and the receptions are currently being held just about anywhere.

The first beautiful wedding venue is the Palais Royale which first opened in 1922 as a big band dance hall that featured opulent décor inspired by great European buildings. In 1935 the building sustained some damage when nearby bombs were set off and during WWI it served as a serviceman's center. Fully restored, it re-opened New Year's Eve, 2002 and today, this site offers a very historic atmosphere with a spectacular dance floor with a stage. The banquet facility is suitable for 125 to 450 attendees and has on site catering.

Their staff can provide a variety of menus for either buffet or plated banquets. A large ballroom complete with a winding staircase provides a romantic backdrop for your nuptial ceremony and/or reception. The Palais Royale is also conveniently located in the heart of the downtown section South Bend. (Visit their website at palaisroyale.org for more details.)The next beautiful wedding venue is one of the historical Amish-built Round Barns that are quickly disappearing from Northwest Indiana. This wedding site is about half an hour from downtown South Bend, Indiana. Re-located to the foot of our vineyards among the rolling hills of the Michigan countryside, is an ideal spot for any occasion. The Round Barn Winery would be happy to host your wedding.
