Will Kentucky Wildcat Football Have Any Bite on the Gridiron This Fall?

However, the health and development of the offensive line remains the primary concern for the Wildcats. The left side of the line returns intact with Garry Williams and Christian Johnson at tackle and guard respectively. Beyond that it's a crapshoot. Will the left side of the Kentucky OL be able to protect Woodson while playing in arguably the fiercest defensive conference in the country? We have our doubts.
On defense, things are far more unsettled. Mike Archer left to join Butch Davis' staff at North Carolina and in steps Steve Brown, whose task is to head up one of the most porous defenses statistically in all of D-1 football. Along the DL, Myron Pryor and Jeremy Jarmon form a solid, yet unspectacular nucleus. Things do look considerably brighter at linebacker where the Wildcats return Wesley Woodyard, a 2006 All-SEC selection, while Johnny Williams and Braxton Kelley round out the Kentucky LB corps. Trevard Lindley, Marcus McClinton, and Roger Williams give UK an experienced trio of defensive backs. The success of this unit likely rests along the interior as opponents will likely look to once again pound the football between the tackles.
The special teams should be outstanding in terms of return yardage with the aforementioned Rafael Little and Keenan Burton manning those posts. The kicking game is far less established with the often erratic Lones Seiber handling placements and Tim Masthay handling the punting duties.
