Christian organizations across the globe are coming together to help the victims of the terrible earthquake in Haiti. If you are a Christian who goes to church, chances are your church is doing something for Haiti and
you can donate to help through your church. IF your church does not have anything set up here is a list including the Episcopal Relief and Development , The Catholic Relief Services, the Lutheran World Relief, the Methodist Relief and Development Fund, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Christian Relief Services. If your not a Christian and are looking for a way to help, these are some of the most respected charities available to help the people of Haiti.
The Episcopal Relief and Development charity is accepting donations to help Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. According to their website the charity is working with partners to provide "technical aid; meet immediate needs such as food, water, shelter and medical care; and coordinate a long-term response." You can choose to support their efforts at their website.
Catholic Relief Services are also helping in Haiti. According to their website "CRS is responding to the growing need for food, water, shelter and health supplies."The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) also have an interesting blog. The blog offers an interesting insight on what is going on in Haiti.
According to their website "Lutheran World Relief is committing $2.25 million to relief efforts in Haiti." In addition to the financial funding the group is working with others "to ensure that the people of Haiti get immediate access to water, food, and shelter."
The Methodist Relief and Development Fund are also helping in Haiti. The group "sent £20,000 to ACT to help facilitate this work" according to their site. ACT is Action by Churches Together who has worked with Catholic Relief Services and Lutheran World Relief as well. The Methodist Relief and Development Fund is "channelling funds to the Methodist Church appeal, which is supporting long-term rehabilitation work in the country"their site states.
