Each week, when you're watching Howie Mandel on Deal or No Deal, do you sit in front of the TV and tell yourself, "I can do that?" Sure you can! I'm going to tell you how you can become a Deal or No Deal contestant and be a part of all the excitement on NBC's popular new game show. Also read: Play NBC's Deal or No Deal Online.

The best thing about the game show is you don't have to answer difficult questions - it's all based on luck - choosing the "lucky" number. When you feel luck is on your side here's what you need to do to apply to be a contestant on NBC's Deal or No Deal. First, have a friend or family member help you put together a five minute videotape of you and the supporters that will be going with you. When making your videotape application, start off by telling them your name and your hometown. The next thing you want to do is tell them about yourself (make it brief), and let them know what you would do with the million dollars if you were to be the winning contestant. "There is no 'right' or 'wrong' thing to say on your tape, we just want to get to know you," says NBC.

After making your video application for Deal or No Deal, you will now need to label the tape with your name, address and phone number (make sure it's legible). The tape must be a VHS tape only, and NBC asks that you rewind the tape to the beginning - this could increase your chances of being accepted.

Your next step...complete and sign the application (link to application can be found under resources). A recent photo of yourself, and also of your supporters must accompany the application. It is recommended that two photos of each wannabee contestant be sent (one being a close up and the other being a full body shot). Make sure to label the back of each photo with the person's name and phone number.

To ensure that your gameshow application is not rejected, make sure you have answered every question on the application, make sure your answers are truthful, and be sure to sign the application.

I would like to be the next contestant of Deal or No Deal but I did not find the application in the reference list. So where can I find the application?

Very informative. I have always loved this show, and would love to be a contestant. Thanks for the great info!

I like the show, but I think I am too shy to be on TV. And I cannot believe the vast number of people who are putting personal information in their comments to Howie. What on earth!?! Did they even read the article at all? There is clearly a strict process; you don't just post your life story and an e-mail address or phone number on an article about the show. Wow, people...

Good article. I am a big fan of game shows such as the Price is Right, Are you Smater than a fifth grader, Jepardy, and 1vs. 100. I like this show too. Howie Mandel was on Monk last week.

Great article. I've often thought about how I would do if I were a contestant on that show.

I love this show, so far the elusive 1 million has yet to be won! I just watched it tonight and they had nine 1million dollar cases in play. And yes so far, no millionaires yet.

This was very informative; I never really knew what it took to get on a game show, and it doesn't seem like they're asking for much. I am a bit suspicious about the pictures of yourself thought...I'm willing to bet they're going to take a preference to the good lookers among us to boost their ratings. But, that's just a theory :) Great article.

I watch the show all the time and I like it. I like seeing greedy people who are offered well of two or three hundred thousand turn it down and end up with 40 or less thousand. I have thought about trying to get on the show but never had the guts. I wish all luck to those who do try and succeed.

This is run on UK TV too, and I really don't get it...a guessing game?? What is supposed to be entertaing in that? Oh, great article, by the way.

Hmmm....reality shows scare me, half-naked teeny boppers in sitcoms scare me...this is just laid back fun, not meant to be rocket science. Loved last nights show...a near tear jerker with the military family. This is probably the only game show I can tolerate - because of the people factor. I've grown out of my trivia phase, had a jeopardy invite and chickened out. I would actually consider a tryout for this but I'm a bit too reserved for their taste, I suspect. :-)

You see, I just lost some brain cells: I meant to type LIFE.

I have no idea why I read this. It didn't change my like not one bit other than to think that the emphasis on photos and what you say on the video is nothing more than picking characters. Try being someone else. You might get on the show faster rather than your boring self.
