When you visit Lake Erie you will want to stop at the Waldameer Park. One of the greatest things about the park is that it is free to enter and free to park. Not many amusement parks in many places offer this option, so consider visiting it when you are there. There are plenty of great rides that you will enjoy like the X Scream (ride that drops you down and is a real rush) and the many new rides the park has now. There is a spinning roller coaster called the Steel Dragon that many people find enjoyable. There are enough rides to keep you busy all day and if you like to stay into the night, you can do that, too. They have fireworks at different times during the summer, like memorial day weekend and other times, too, so make sure that you keep that in mind when you are there. The fireworks are there on July 3rd and 4th and September 2 of 2007. There is karaoke and live shows in the park. There are plenty of rides to keep people all ages busy. When you are there make sure that you also note that there is a Water World with all kinds of great water rides. The tubes in the Water World are also free. Be prepared to feel refreshed after spending some time in the Water World at the Waldameer Park.
When you visit the Waldameer Park you will also want to note that you can pay an all day price. It is $17.45 for Waldameer and for the Water World it is $13.95. There is a combo package, too. The price is $19.95 to get into both sections of the park if that is what you prefer. Waldameer Park accepts major credit cards and travelers checks when you are paying for your all day price. Prices for the little ones under 42" are less of course and they are approximately a five dollar difference for each of the three amounts. Keep in mind that there are rides for the little ones, too and they will enjoy them. Be sure to put the sunscreen on the little ones when they are wondering about the park to protect them from the sun's rays. It is better than hearing them complain about sunburn during your vacation. Make it a must when you are there.
