Foreword: I am not a mechanic and will not take responsibility for anything that comes from this article. I really do mean ANYTHING I do not take responsibility for you breaking your car, hurting yourself, acts of god, you get the point, ANYTHING. This is for informational purposes only, use it wisely.

This is pretty idiot proof, which some will hopefully find funny, well, here we go! First you need to have the right tools and supplies. There are a few basic tools that are required, a few you may be able to get along without but would make the job a lot easier, and some tools can be make-shifted. The required tools will be an oil pan(or something that can at least hold a few quarts of old, nasty oil), rags (for when you make a mess), an adjustable wrench (to remove the oil plug), and something to remove the old oil filter if you plan on changing it at this time (more on this later). Tools that would make this job easier are a proper oil pan, a proper oil wrench, a ratchet with the proper socket to remove your oil plug, newspaper, disposable shop towels(kinda like paper towels on steroids),and kitty litter if you have it. Other supplies will of course be enough oil to put back in your engine and an oil filter(yet again, if you plan on changing it). OK, now this all may not make sense yet but just wait.

First, pop the hood, if you cannot figure out how to do this then changing oil is most definitely not for you. If you have just recently driven to the car the engine will be hot, don't touch it, it will no doubt burn you, I know your excited about this but just wait for it to cool. When that's done you need to locate your oil plug and oil filter, if your smart you would have already put newspaper down on the driveway under the car. If your smarter you would have put some rocks from the neighbors garden or bricks from wherever on the corners of the paper to keep it from blowing away. Now every car is different and I cannot tell you exactly where your oil plug or filter are located. I can tell you that the oil plug is on the bottom of the engine, the filter can be almost anywhere. If in doubt, ask a friend that knows or better yet, a mechanic.
