This is my personal review for the movie 50 First dates. This movie has an all star cast. Lets start off with the main characters. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
I can honestly say that they are a great comedy duo and have a chemistry between them that is very hard to find in film. They made this movie very enjoyable to watch.
Without giving the movie away I will tell you a bit about the movie.
Firstly, the movie is rated PG-13. It is rated PG-13 do to crude sexual humor and drug references. I can honestly say, that is a bit extreme. There is some sexual humor and hardly any reference to drugs, if there is any it is so minor that it shouldn't even be mentioned. The sexual humor is not vulgar in any way and there is no nudity whatsoever. The movie does deserve the rating it received, and should be viewed by an adult before showing to minors but I personally don't see any problems with minors watching this film.
This movie has a running time of approximately 99 minutes. It is a short movie, if you compare it to movies that are two hours or more. The movie is an eye pleaser from beginning to end. The time goes by very quickly.
Adam Sandler plays a character named Henry Roth. He is basically a man who is afraid of commitment. A player if you may. He is a veterinarian who falls in love with a local Hawaiian girl named Lucy, played by Drew Barrymore.
Lucy has a very unique disability. She had been in a major car accident several years earlier and has lost her short term memory. Basically whatever she does during the course of a day, she forgets the next day, and starts all over again.
Henry tries his hardest to make Lucy re- fall in love with him every day after learning about her disability.
He attempts this task with humorous results.
The DVD that I recommend is the full screen special addition series. It is loaded with many special features. Including:
Director and cast commentary
Deleted Scenes with optional commentary
The making of 50 first dates
Music Videos
Gag Reel
Comedy Central Reel Comedy Special
Talkin Pidgin Featurette
Movie Previews.
