Come to Tinicum Park, which is on River Road Erwinna PA on June 9 and 10, 2007 for a fun-filled time, as well as helping preserve the history of the covered bridges of the county, and state of Pennsylvania.

This 2 day festival will have tours of 6 of the 11 covered bridges that remain standing in Bucks County. There will be pony rides and a petting zoo for the kids. Take a trolley ride through the bridges, see the illusionist. Walk tours through the Uhlerstown Covered bridge, and take the Trolley to the 5 other covered bridges. Or walk through one of the bridges and take the trolley to the others. There will be arts crafts, and vendors set up for a day of enjoyment. You can relax and listen to the live bands, or participate in the 4-mile guided walking tour to visit the bridges.

In the last month Bucks County had 2 of the existing 11 covered bridges damaged. Pine Valley Covered Bridge was hit by an oversize truck, which never stopped after the accident. A week later another bridge, knetch's covered bridge was damaged when someone started a fire inside. This is the 2nd time in 3 years that this bridge was the target of arson. The Vandals tried to set the bridge on fire using bales of hay they placed inside the bridge. Both bridges are still standing but these bridges are over 130 years old, and repairing them will cost money. Bucks County also owns mood's covered bridge which was a target of arson last year, and is still waiting to be rebuilt. It was destroyed in 2004. All money raised at the festival with help pay for fire suppression system and sprinklers installation for the bridges. These are to be installed in the remaining covered bridges in Bucks County.

Bucks County had 36 covered bridge standing, today only 11 remain, the county is like other counties where these bridges still stand, are doing what they can to make people aware of need to restore and preserve these historic beauties. The Festival will use the money raised to repair the bridges, as well as restore the bridges that have been damaged by arson, vandalism. The money will help preserve the covered bridges in Pennsylvania.
