Summer is here and the weather is heating up. Vacations, BBQ's, and hanging out with friends and family are the goals of every person. Because the weather is getting warm, people begin looking for fun vacation spots. We have all heard of the fun, exciting, and fantastic Las Vegas, but what most people do not know is that the summer time is considered an "off season" for the mega resort city.

Why does it matter if the summer is an "off season" for Las Vegas? This matters because you should be able to find some great discount hotels. Las Vegas can offer you tons of fun, but you do not need to pay a lot if you go at the right time.

If you go to Las Vegas during the summer and want to save money, avoid holiday and fight weekends. Therefore, avoid holidays like the Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. Additionally, make sure you avoid coming on weekends when a pay-per-view boxing match or UFC fight is scheduled. Las Vegas hotels raise the price per room on these weekends because they will all be sold out. Also, trying to book a reservation at a good restaurant will be near impossible.

If you avoid these holiday and fight weekends, you should be able to find a good summer deal. Another great tip is to come to Las Vegas during the week. Room rates during the week (as opposed to the weekend) are less expensive because the demand is less. This fact coupled with the fact that the summer months are the Las Vegas "off season" means big savings to you.

Choosing a hotel can be a difficult task if you know nothing about the city. If you want to be in the "middle of the action," you should get a hotel on "the strip." The Strip comprises the hotels and resorts on Las Vegas Boulevard. Any hotel room on this street will put you in the heart of all the experiences that are Las Vegas.

If you have never been to Las Vegas before, you need to be aware of the extreme temperatures that the city reaches. It is not uncommon for the temperatures of Las Vegas during the summer months to average 100+ degrees. The problem with these temperatures is that they do not get cooler at night. I have experienced 110 degrees Fahrenheit at four o'clock in the morning!
