Looking for the perfect week long summer getaway that includes the whole family? Escape the city's summer heat and visit a real Montana working cattle ranch in the mountains outside of Yellowstone. The 63 Ranch, located 12 miles south of Livingston, Montana, offers guests the perfect opportunity to leave city life behind for a week and enjoy a more simple way of living. At 5600 feet above sea level, guests can escape the summer heat and enjoy beautiful scenery like nowhere else. The ranch offers many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality unique to Montana.
The 63 Ranch was founded in 1863 (hence the name) and has been owned by the same family since 1929. The owners, Sandra and Bud Cahill, are some of the most down to earth people around. They truly take pride in their ranch, and go out of their way to make their guests feel like part of the family.
While the ranch does not have an official children's program, children six and older are included in many of the ranch's activities, making this a unique family experience. The ranch offers children only and family horseback rides, as well as other activities including fossil hunting, fishing, and getting to know the ranch animals. A well stocked game room gives kids a break from the outdoors, and evening activities including volleyball, square dancing, and roasting marshmallows over an open fire complete the experience.
