Today marks the Grand Opening of The Blue Parrot Piano Bar in Second Life and the celebration of musician Karmahn Heart. The music, decor and ambiance are one that will keep residents coming back for more.

When I stepped through the doors of The Blue Parrot Piano Bar, I was pleasantly surprise by the elegant yet fun atmosphere. The room is filled with rich burgundy and trimmed with dark wood. There is a wonderful chandelier in the middle of the dance floor.

The Blue Parrot Piano Bar has its fun aspects too. It's not called the Blue Parrot Piano Bar for nothing. The seats are covered with various tropical parrots and there is lovely parrot sitting in a cage near the festive bar. There is a rich black Piano sitting onstage in the corner of the room and guests are invited to dance their hearts away.

The music was grand just like the piano in the corner. The Blue Parrot Piano Bar guests enjoyed dancing to the twinkling of ivories by Karmahn Heart, musician and owner of the Piano Bar. The room quickly filled with cheering, dancing and celebration as Karmahn Heart played outstanding music from the likes of Enya, David Lance, several classical composers and Broadway musicals.

Karmahn Heart later that hour stepped off the stage and offered musical likings of Dave Brubeck, Natalie Merchant and more. I was able to sit down and discuss The Blue Parrot Piano Bar and her musical career.

Karmahn started her musical beginnings at the ripe age of three. Her mom sparked her interest and the love for music grew through high school and college. She remembers playing solo at a very young age at church each month.

When asked why she decided to open a bar and play in Second Life she commented, "I really was prompted by my family. I would go to events in Second Life with my sister and she would nudge me and tell me that I could be doing this."
