Some moms find that they feel more comfortable with the support of underwire, and some find that it can lead to plugged ducts. Although you can find nursing bras that are simply stretchier then standard bras you may consider getting some with flaps. When it comes time to nurse your baby you can simply unclasped the flap that is covering your breast and feed your child. The bra will conceal all but the area that your baby is suckling on. Now other nursing bras will not have flaps and you can simply move them up above your breast when you are nursing your baby. If you do decide to use the bras with flaps, avoid getting velcro ones, the noise of the velcro could wake the baby if they have fallen asleep while suckling.

No matter what the kind of nursing bra that you choose there are some general things that you should keep in mind when you choose a nursing bra. Keep in mind that when you are picking a size, if you are pregnant, your breast will get larger in your later part of pregnancy and once your milk has come in. Make sure that the bra will not fit too tight, this can cause plug ducts and possibly result in low milk supply or mastitis. Try and find nursing bras that have wide straps, they will be much more comfortable than tiny ones.
