One of my greatest (and maybe silliest) fears is to grow old and develop old-lady flab: that loose, droopy skin on your arms that should be where your bicep is. This has certainly motivated me to keep my arms in shape and devote a little time to them when I go to the gym. You don't need to rival Army officers with the number of push-ups you can do to get a sculpted upper body either. Besides, I'm not sure how many people actually want to look like a body-builder and have muscles that could crush cans. If you're shaping up for summer, your arms are an essential asset to looking good in halter tops and spaghetti straps. For svelte, toned and not bulky looking arms, all you really need is already in your home.

Your upper arm is made up of two main muscle groups: biceps and triceps. Everyday actions, such as carrying a bag of groceries, work these groups. But, to deliver a killer serve on the beach volleyball court, it's going to take a little more effort than that to get your arms into shape. The triceps are often a neglected muscle group, but surprisingly one of the most receptive to exercise. Try these moves for a little as two weeks and I guarantee you'll catch a glimpse your toned triceps when you next look in the mirror.

Out of all the muscle groups, your arms require the least equipment to get moving. Try holding a 2 liter soda bottle in each hand and curling your arm up. Not as easy at it sounds if you're out of shape, but easy to find the equipment. The best moves for your triceps require a wall, a floor and a chair. Seriously, that's it. Adding weights certainly increases resistance and delivers results faster, but they're not necessary.

Takeaways
  • The triceps are surprisingly receptive to exercise
  • Reverse push-ups are less demanding on the chest, but isolate triceps
  • Excercising with weights doesn't necessarily add bulk

This sounds better than my not so routine gym routine. I'll give it a try

Thanks for the info. I too am concerned about not having flabby arm muscles. I will use the exercises as a guide.
