Law & Order has been one of the longest running shows on television. This coming fall viewers will be surprised to learn that this hit television show will be moving to channel USA. Why the move? The reason is because the show's popularity has slowly been dwindling and the support from viewers just isn't enough to keep it on NBC, one of the biggest television studio networks.

Law & Order has undergone so many changes in actors and actresses that it is amazing the show has lasted so long. If you flip through TNT or channel USA you will often find re-reruns of the show from the early 1990s. Currently the show's most popular actor is Sam Waterstone who plays the role of District Attorney Jack McCoy. Fred Thomson, the Tennessee Senator has also been a regular on the show as Jack McCoy's boss. Many of the popular detectives and Assistant District Attorneys on the show have left or have been replaced yet the show keeps going on. The main Law & Order show has been by far the most popular although the spin-offs of the show such as Law & Order Criminal Intent and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has been a hit among their respective fans.

However, many fans of the show have complained that there are too many spin-offs and the court room drama is unable to compete with the dozens of law and justice shows out there today. This list of theme related shows include Boston Legal, Shark, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and countless others. The show is staggering to an end and executive producer Dick Wolfe is hanging on to whatever is left of the show.

I thought only Law and Order Criminal Intent will be airing its new episodes on USA Network. Law and Order and Law and Order SVU will still be on NBC.
