With Dr. Jack Kevorkian getting out of prison soon, it is time to talk about him just a little. In fact, I think it is high time we shut out some of these loopholes in the legal system once and for all.

So, we have Dr. Jack Kevorkian. "Dr. Death" admitted to helping around 130 people commit suicide from 1990 to 1998. Assisted suicide is the formal name. Let's talk about how it works: a person comes in, wanting to die. This person is probably older and could have a terminal disease. The person wants to die on their terms, so they end their life before the disease can do it for them. Kevorkian was there to help them do that. Do I approve of what Kevorkian did? Not in the least. I abhor what Kevorkian did, and I wish he could stay in prison. If a person is going to commit suicide, no man should help them. However, the people that Kevorkian assisted willingly asked for his services. Their life is theirs, and they made that decision. That said, I think it is time to compare Kevorkian with another form of assisted murder.

Abortion is our second form of assisted murder. Here's how abortion works: a young lady walks into a clinic, asks for the death of her living baby, and the doctor obliges. The young lady and the doctor have both participated in the destruction of another life. What is he difference between the two assisted death operations, you ask? Well, I answer. In Kevorkian's case, the people asked him to bring about the end of their own life. They wanted themselves dead. In the case of abortion doctors, we have women asking for the destruction of another person's life. The difference is that the baby never asked for death. This makes abortion solicitation for murder, just the same as Kevorkian's case. Why is our legal system turned around backwards like this?

I am 100% Pro-Life and I hate that abortion is legal. I think you make some very good points as well when comparing these two things. I wish more people would stop and think about it like you do. Life begins at conception. Life ends when it is our time to go. I truly don't believe we should legalize any form of assisted suicide or abortion. Life is so undervalued these days. We, as a society, need to find out why and then make some positive changes. Life is a gift and it should be treated as such; not tossed away or ended because we find a certain stage of it inconvenient. We could find homes for those babies that are aborted. We could increase pain meds for those who are dying of a painful disease. That is a whole other topic though. Great article!

Chris, you make many good points in this article. People have been deceived into thinking that a baby isn't a real living person.
