Compared to other state universities, UW-Green Bay has some modest admissions standards, with an ACT requirement of 21 and a high school average of 2.5 GPA as minimum requirements to admission. Once the student is admitted, however, there is a lot of help from the university staff toward getting acclimated to the unique environment. Aside from the UW-Green Bay Ambassadors and the tours given on a regular basis through campus, Preview Days and the Student Orientation program at the beginning of the summer semester make the new college student’s transition to college life much easier. As well, freshmen who live on campus get the college experience a week before the rest of the university starts up with sample classes taught by professors and programs all week long before the semester starts. The resident assistant staff and the housing office personnel are also responsible for getting students comfortable in their environment, with a broad array of events and programs to keep students active in their educational and social lives.
